Your Impact Matters Here

At Girls In Sports, we believe in the potential of NCAA female athletes. Through mentorship on the skills and attributes necessary to be a female college athlete, how to achieve your non-athletic goals after sports, and so much more, we empower women in sports to achieve their dreams in college sports and beyond.

Mentorship Information

Our Mentors

College athletes will visit high schools, middle schools and youth club teams to speak with girls about the realities of playing NCAA sports, offering a firsthand look into the dedication, challenges, and rewards of competing at the collegiate level. They will share their personal journeys—balancing academics, training, and social life—while offering tips on time management, recruiting, scholarship opportunities, and maintaining mental and physical health. By answering questions and sharing honest insights, these athletes aim to inspire and prepare young girls who aspire to play sports in college, helping them make informed decisions and set realistic goals for their future.

Female College Athlete

Being a College Athlete

Our mentors play at the Divisions I, II, and III level and will share the realities of what it takes to thrive as a college athlete. They’ll dive into the essential skills needed to succeed, such as time management, mental focus, self-motivation, and adaptability, as well as the importance of developing strong habits like maintaining a balanced routine, staying organized, and committing to personal growth. Young athletes will hear firsthand about the different demands and expectations of each division. Beyond the hard work, the athletes will also talk about the friendships built with teammates and the positive experiences they have had. Most importantly, they’ll encourage younger girls to keep playing and that being a college athlete is full of unforgettable memories, personal growth, and life-changing opportunities.

Beyond College

Sports end eventually, so our athletes will speak to younger female athletes about how their experience in college sports sets them up for success far beyond the field. They’ll share how being a student-athlete builds highly valuable skills like leadership, teamwork, effective communication and more traits that employers and graduate schools actively look for. Young athletes will see how college athletics opens up unique networking opportunities with alumni, coaches, brands, and mentors. Girls will also learn how to highlight their athletic experience on a resume and gain professional confidence. Most importantly, the speakers will inspire younger athletes to see sports as more than a game.
