Girls In Sports is expanding its mission to empower young female athletes, bringing its programs to the Washington, D.C. area and the San Francisco Bay Area. This growth represents an exciting step forward as the nonprofit works to reach more girls and create greater access to mentorship and opportunity through sports.
Girls In Sports connects youth athletes with female NCAA athletes who serve as mentors and role models. Through shared experiences and meaningful conversations, college athletes provide insight into balancing academics and athletics, navigating the recruiting process and building confidence on and off the field. These connections help young athletes see what is possible and encourage them to stay engaged in sports while developing leadership skills that extend beyond competition.
Expanding to the D.C. area allows Girls In Sports to partner with schools, teams and community organizations in a region known for leadership and civic engagement. The Bay Area offers a similarly strong environment, with its commitment to innovation, equity, and support for women’s sports. Together, these regions provide powerful opportunities to grow impact and deepen community connections.
As Girls In Sports continues to expand, its focus remains the same: using sports as a tool for confidence, mentorship, and personal growth, while inspiring the next generation of girls to lead with strength and self-belief.
